The people at Coughlin are great. They got me in for an oil change in the same week where some other places were talking about a week out. I was in and out in the time promised as the also synced my spare key up to my car. They are professional, knowledgeable, trustworthy and funny. truly a great experience.

At the end of the day, my service experience was positive. But I must first explain how wrong had it gone before it got there. I called to receive an estimate for an oil change and headlight replacement for my 2013 Buick Enclave which I purchased from Coughlin five months ago. I was put on hold and transferred to someone in the service department who told me that the headlight would be “about $75.” So I scheduled a 9:15am appointment for two days later. I neglected to ask how long the service would take so when I dropped off the vehicle, I was surprised to learn that it would be approximately two hours. So I got a ride home and received a call from Woody about forty five minutes later. He told that the $75 estimate was wrong, that the car required a special bulb that was more expensive, that the bulb was not in inventory, it would have to be ordered, and the cost would be around $325 with parts and labor. With frustration, I told him that I was not prepared for that expense and do the oil change only. Fast forward fifteen minutes, Woody called me back and informed me that my vehicle was still under a bumper-to-bumper warranty and there would be NO CHARGE to replace the headlight, but it would still have to be ordered, they could have it by 3:30 and have my car ready by 4:30 that day. Free was good news, but now I would be without my vehicle the entire day. Herein lies my frustration. For one of the first times in my life I chose to use the dealer from whom I purchased my vehicle for service believing that it would be beneficial because they knew the vehicle. So why, when I called for an estimate, did someone not look up the VIN and note what kind of bulb was needed, what the price would be, and have it in house when I dropped the car off for the appointment? And why did they not know that it was covered by warranty until after I was already terribly frustrated and upset? What could have been a stellar service experience turned out to only be satisfactory because of the lousy service on the front side. I am undecided if I will return to Coughlin for future service.
