I recommend avoiding. Unless the deal is so amazing you are willing to risk a possibly major repair that is being covered up just to make a sale and don't mind dealing with someone that is less then professional.
Jim goes on the test drive with you, which is not a problem but he starts driving the car along and in this case is a manual transmission. He starts off and just slams through all the gears I guess to demonstrate that they work and speeds along like crazy. So I put my seat belt on and start testing various items in the car such as the air conditioning heat ect. Well he finally ask if I would like to drive it. Well of course I would like to test drive it (that's why I'm here). I check a few things once I'm finally in the driver seat and take off. I say this is going to need a clutch soon. He told me I can do anything I want to it when I buy it. Fair enough, but then he go's on that in fact it does not need a clutch and he buys and sells 30 cars a month for the last 30 years. I ask him what that has to do with the clutch, well he can take this car off in 2ed gear. So according to Jim if you can move a car in 2ed gear the clutch is fine.... So moving on I get the car back and start my inspection. Jim takes a seat watching me and just starts burping not like once but at least 6 times in a row. So I ask him how much does he want for it. He says "well you saw it online that's how much I want. Did you bring cash?" I think he asked this question in one form or another at least as many times as he burped. At this point I was done with his nonsense. Between the clear abuse of a car I was planning on purchasing and all the nasty language (don't take your kids there) I was beyond it. This is not how you run a business and I will not be as Jim put it letting my shadow darken his porch anymore.
To sum up this review.
Horrible will NEVER go back and recommend everyone avoids this place. First off unprofessional. Second uses additives and quick fixes to cover problems. I spoke to jim himself at a parts store at one point. He wasn't buying parts but additives. He told me that he ran a car lot and that when he gets a car in that doesn't run well and doesn't want to spend much money on it he adds this(holding a bottle). I bought a car from him and i guess i was one of the unlucky ones. I took it home and changed the oil and power steering fluid as well as coolant. As i normally do when i buy a car. Used recommended fluids. Well wouldn't you know, less then a week later i had a bad engine. It started to knock badly only 10 miles of changing the oil. Within 50 miles spun rod bearing on cyl 4. The oil that came out of it when i bought it was very thick and had that all too familiar feeling of lucus oil stablizer or STP oil treatment(i use them as assembl lube so know the feeling very well). When i went to talk to Jim he more of less just told me well you bought it as is didn't you and what do you want?. So here i was with a car that was quoted $4000 to repair at less then a week after i bought it.
Will be back to buy another truck. Great people. Big Jim will hook you up.
Unfriendly sales person
Traveled from South Carolina to buy a Truck here. Beth, Aaron, and Jim were very nice and helpful. Picked me up at the rent a car center and sold me a great '95 Ford F-150. They'll tell you upfront what you're getting into. If you're looking for a great deal on a used car that might need just a little bit of work - totally worth it.
